High Rock Lake Fishing

Located just south of Lexington is a popular fishing reservoir known as High Rock Lake. This 15,000-acre lake contains a plentiful supply of bass, crappie, catfish, and stripers. You can fish from the lake’s 365 miles of shoreline, or explore the water from a boat, canoe, or kayak. High Rock Lake has many boat docks, ledges, creek channels and humps that provide good hiding places for fish. When choosing your bait, opt for spinnerbaits and flashy lures to get the attention of the fish in the dark waters. The best time to plan your visit is in June right after the fish spawn – this is when they are most active.
